Refund Policy
Last updated: 20 September 2026
I sell services, not products that can be returned in a box. So this policy is about milestones and deposits: what's refundable, what isn't, and how to ask. My aim is simple — you shouldn't pay for work you didn't get.
In one line: cancel before I start and you get your deposit back, less any real costs already incurred. Once a milestone is delivered and approved, that milestone isn't refundable — but unfinished work always is.
01Scope
This policy covers project work and retainers for cloud engineering, DevOps, automation, product creation, mobile development and web development. Where a proposal or invoice states different refund terms, those terms win.
02Deposits
- Projects normally start with a 50% deposit.
- Cancel before work starts and the deposit is refunded in full, minus any non-recoverable costs already spent on your project (for example a domain, licence or cloud resource bought specifically for you).
- Once work has started, the deposit is applied against work already done and is refunded only to the extent that work wasn't performed.
03Milestones
| Stage | Refundable? |
|---|---|
| Not started | Yes — full refund of anything paid for that stage |
| In progress, not delivered | Partly — you pay for the portion completed; the rest is refunded |
| Delivered and approved | No — the work exists and you have it |
| Delivered, rejected for a genuine defect | I fix it free within the warranty window, or refund that milestone if I can't |
04What isn't refundable
- Third-party costs already paid on your behalf — domains, hosting, cloud usage, paid APIs, app store fees, licences.
- Work already delivered and approved.
- Time already spent, at the agreed rate, on a cancelled engagement.
- Priority or rush surcharges once that rush work has been done.
05Retainers and ongoing work
Monthly retainers are billed in advance and can be cancelled with 14 days' notice — the current month isn't refunded, the next one isn't billed. Unused hours don't carry over unless we agreed that in writing.
06If I have to stop
Occasionally I may be unable to continue — illness, or a scope that's turned out to be impossible as specified. In that case I stop billing immediately and refund everything not yet earned, and I hand over the work in progress.
07How to request a refund
- Email ekemini.udongwo11@gmail.com (or message WhatsApp) with the project name, what you paid and what you're asking for.
- I reply within 5 business days with a decision and the calculation behind it.
- Approved refunds are paid back by the same method you paid, within 10 business days. Bank or payment-processor fees may be deducted where they're charged to me.
08Disputes and chargebacks
If you think a refund decision is wrong, tell me first — most disagreements are a misunderstanding about scope, and I'd rather fix it than argue. Please don't file a chargeback without contacting me; it costs both of us time and fees. Refunds and disputes are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
